0 Obama Wins Democratic Nomination

Senator Barrack Obama is the first black man in American history to become a nominee for the President of the United States. Do you have any idea the kind of impact this has on the history of this nation?

Sure, all the nay-sayers think he doesn’t have the fuel to fulfill the duty and responsibility as president of the United States. But on the same token, these are the same people that elected Bush for two consecutive terms. Needless to say, all the opposing judgements are rather irrelevant at this point.

I think as a black man myself, this is definitely something to remember and cherish for many years to come. Not to beat a dead horse, but 400 years ago? Can you imagine? A black man trying to run for president? Wow. This country has come a long way in terms of equality. Before I start getting all historical, I’ll conclude

For the first time I’m proud of this country, not simply because a black man is on the verge of becoming president. I’m proud because this moment in history has shown a level of maturity that no American has ever seen in this country. From the first day this nation became a nation to today … no words can express. Can’t say that I’m a feverish patriotic now, but I definitely feel a breath of fresh air.
