4 Working at Headmix
Moments ago I accepted a job offer to work at Headmix. I’ll probably discuss what Headmix is about later, but for right now their website explains it better.
For a while I’ve been wanting to work with a company focused on doing one or a couple things well. I preferred a situation that was focused on solving a small set of problems effectively.
Why the drastic change?
Well, initially I wanted to try full-time contracted work. That never brought a consistent stream of income as demand wasn’t always at peak. But the experience was awarding nonetheless. In all that, I needed something better, the best of both worlds. As far as requirements, I wanted to work from home or not be tied down by a specific building and I need a consistent paycheck (again).
Out of a string of random introductions, I met Ben Moore (one of the “many” readers of my blog) and he presented an unofficial offer that touched all those things I’d mentioned. It was in a word, perfect. After several talks and a standard interview followed by an offer, I decided to pull the trigger and take it on. Another large concern previous to Headmix was health insurance. We all know that good, affordable health insurance is tough to come by as an independent contractor and of course Headmix fulfilled that need as well.
Needless to say, I’m very excited and thrilled to begin work with Headmix. My goal is to kick major bum with the UI and make using Headmix a pleasant, simple and productive experience.

Mixed feelings here from one of the “many.”
Congrats on the new position, I understand the need to feel like a stable income level is the best situation. Look forward to seeing what comes from it.
On the other hand, would hate to see you give up on some of the projects you were working on. I too, have been in the process of working through the ability to provide high-volume, low-maintenance websites for churches and other groups and have enjoyed getting a different perspective.
Good luck in the new endeavor.
Hey Christian! Don’t worry. I’m still pushing on Bigsteepl, trying to find a better way provide solid reliable content management and web development services to small churches without burning a whole in their small budgets.
Ironically enough, I was going to post a some stuff on what was going on with Bigsteepl. Lots of ideas baking.
Grats on the job!
Hooray for group sourcing?
Congratulations! Hope you still keep on this blog! Healthcare is overrated;)!
