0 Media Reform? Probably Not

Tonight I caught a quick look at the live stream of the National Conference for Media Reform. Everyone wants to change the media, but no one wants to do the work.

Frankly I’m sick of talk. We can have conferences and seminars for the next 30 years and will probably see nothing change. Granted, I’d be considered a doomsayer and a pessimistic, but real change happens politically, not through grassroots gatherings and pithy conferences.

For once I’d like to see a prominent politician willing to call bullshit on daily media in a big way. It’s not about convincing the public anymore. We already know that our “relevant” media really isn’t all that relevant. However, it’s the politicians, the high-level media moguls and all the pawns known as the press who paint the media. Change them and you change the media.
