4 My Weekend App

I feel empty on the weekends most times when it comes to web projects. So it’s time to start a little series called “My Weekend App”. I’ll build something and in the process I’ll talk about it.

What is this app going to be?

I do know that it will be small and focused. As a designer I have plenty trouble managing smaller pieces of a bigger picture. But with programming that problem is further amplified. My Weekend App hopefully will teach me a few things in terms of building software and the kind of work-flow it requires.

As far as the actual application is concerned, I don’t really know what I want to build. Feed readers annoy me, and yes, that even includes Cullect sometimes. I could build a feed-reader that I like using. Blogging can either be too simple and way too complicated and therefore I could build a simple blogging tool. Actually the whole blogging thing has been quite the itch while using RadiantCMS. I love Radiant, but man I just need something that works well and doesn’t feel hackish.

In the next post about my weekend app, I’ll choose an actual problem to solve. Stay tuned.

Any chance you want to open up the twitter following list so some of us can keep up?

Yeah, I really should try and get twitter statuses on my blog. Hmm. I’ll have to take some time to figure that out.
